Design and display
Externally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is very similar to its predecessor. However, on closer inspection, you will see some clarifications. You still get a 6.7-inch folding screen, but the frames are now thinner, which gives it a more premium look.

The 6.7-inch AMOLED 2x foldable dynamic display with a resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels has the same adaptive refresh rate as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, with refresh rates from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, depending on your current display.

The adaptive refresh rate promises to improve battery performance by using the practically correct refresh rate required for optimal viewing. You also get a HDR 10+ and a brightness of up to 1200 nits for excellent viewing.

The front of the Samsung phone is covered with transparent plastic for easy folding. You also get armored aluminum frames with a back covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ glass. The hinge is covered with the same durable aluminum.

The smartphone is available in many colors, including purple, graphite, rose gold, blue, yellow, white, dark blue, khaki and red.

You get two rings for both rear cameras with a 1.9-inch Super AMOLED display, which is useful for notifications. The protective screen can also be used to take selfies with rear cameras to achieve the best result. It retains the same 260 x 512 pixel resolution as Flip3. It is covered with the same Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ as the rest of the back panel.

Waterproof IPX8
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 has an IPX8 waterproof rating. It can survive up to 30 minutes at a depth of up to 1.5 meters in fresh water.

The sturdy aluminum frame and hinge, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ glass, make the device durable.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G has a camera setup somewhat similar to that of the Flip3. You get two 12-megapixel sensors on the back and a 10-megapixel sensor on the front.

The main camera, although still 12 megapixels, has been updated to allow more light to pass through in order to improve low-light performance. This is a wide-angle lens with a resolution of 83 FoV and an aperture of f/1.8. The camera also provides optical image stabilization (OIS) and two-pixel phase detection autofocus.

The main camera supports a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, exactly the same as that of the 2021 Flip. You can record videos in 4K format. Slow motion shooting is also supported by the smartphone camera, which provides 960 frames per second for 720p HD video recording.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is equipped with the same selfie camera as its predecessor. You get a 10-megapixel wide-angle camera with support for 4K ultra HD recording.

Hardware and software
Compared to its predecessor, as well as other Samsung 2022 flagships such as the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 5G is equipped with an updated chipset.

The eight-core Qualcomm SM8475 Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset (4 nm) has a three-cluster architecture with a single-core Cortex-X2 processor, a three-core Cortex-A710 processor and a quad-core Cortex A510 processor at 3.19 GHz, 2.75 GHz and 1.8 GHz, respectively.

The Premium Android phone offers 8 GB of RAM with a capacity of 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage. It does not have a memory card slot similar to iPhone models such as the iPhone X and iPhone XR, as well as the new iPhone 13 Pro Max.

This Android phone offers an improved battery capacity from 3300mAh to 3700mAh. It also provides faster charging from 15W to 25W, however, you will have to purchase the charger separately, since there is none in the box. The smartphone also supports 15-watt wireless charging, as well as 4.5-watt reverse wireless charging.
